Provenance: John Bowen (inscriptions dated 1706 recording the price of 12s; initials stamped on covers) -- Benjamin King (inscriptions, one dated 1769) -- S.E. Cook (inscription dated 1827).
Second edition in English of this popular and richly illustrated treatise on perspective by the Jesuit scholar Père Dubreuil, first published in 1642. The first English edition appeared in 1672, and the appearace of an edition as late as 1743 is evidence of its lasting value. Wing D-2412.
