Chased in high relief with hunting scene, engine-turned sides & base, floral thumb piece & gilt interior, inscribed inside cover to Charles Cooke of Shimpling Hall by the officers of 9th Lancers for selecting a time for their steeplechase, dated 1840, also an additional later inscription inside base
