Lot Essay

From a small group of high quality tablewares with this distinctive combination of European subject and richly enameled Chinese taste borders, including the Hodroff collection pot on the cover of D.S. Howard's The Choice of the Private Trader, and another once in the Garland, the Pierpont Morgan and the Hervouët collections, sold Christie's London, 11 May 2004, lot 69.
