As noted in the Aronson catalogue, the present plaque appears to depict a scene from the life of Christ recounted in each of the four Gospels: Jesus of Nazareth, having been brought before Pontius Pilate for trial is released to the general population described as the King of the Jews. He is clothed in a red or purple robe and given a 'crown' of thorns, all symbolic of this 'royal' status, then mocked and abused before being re-dressed in his own clothes and led off to be crucified. It is this last scene that is the subject of the present plaque, perhaps one from a series depicting the Passion of Christ.
