Painted with the Sovereign in riding gear astride a rearing horse flanked by sponged trees and the inscription K/ye2 G, within a blue and yellow line rim, on a circular foot

At the time of cataloguing, no other example of this design format, an equestrian charger of George II, is extant. It is similarly noted as unique in the literature. For comparative literature on an inscribed portrait charger of George II see Leslie Grigsby, ibid, p. 80-81.
