The ruby stained flask of compressed globular form, cut with stylized flowerheads and scrollwork, the stopper with silver knop etched with wheat, marked under base 11191 4063 and with Columbian Exposition mark

Descriptif du lot

Several decanters were displayed by Tiffany & Co. at the 1893 Exposition. Tiffany's catalogue includes a decanter closely related to the present lot, described as a flask of "red glass, rock-crystal cutting, silver mounting, enamel flowers, and etched and enamel stopper." See John Blades and John Loring, Tiffany at the World's Columbian Exposition, 2006, pp. 132-33.
