Jonathan Lowndes (born circa 1657) was made Freeman of the Clockmakers' Company in 1680 and is recorded at The Dial in Pall Mall from 1683. There is no record of him after 1702. A single basket top table clock by him is illustrated by Eric Bruton in The Wetherfield Collection, London, 1981, p. 92. A striking table clock by Lowndes was sold anonymously Christie's London, 14 June 2000, lot 52.
