The motif of the bottle hanging from the hands at center is quite unusual, as Maitreya usually holds it in his left hand. The treatment of the drapery is particularly well observed and executed; for a related example, see H. Ingholt, Gandharan Art in Pakistan, 1957, cat. no. 302, p. 137.
