Centered by the Buddha seated with his hands in dharmachakramudra, flanked on either side by four bodhisattvas seated on lotus blossoms, with an inscription on the lower band centered by a chakra and attendant deer

Lot Essay

The inscription above the images contains the popular Buddhist creed, whereas the inscription below says goraksitabhiksava avaruhnike lidgade devadharmmoyam krtah, which means "Cow-protected monks commissioned this religious work at Lidgada in Avaruhnika."
