Lot Essay

Garuda bearing Vishnu and Lakshmi became a popular subject in Bundi and Kotah painting, often depicted in wall paintings of the palace in the seventeenth century. By the eighteenth century, Garuda became the state emblem of Kotah and is often found depicted alone.
