A Gilt Bronze Figure of Vajradhara
Tibet, 16th century
Seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with beaded rims, the hands in vitarkamudra, clad in a dhoti with beaded hems incised with a floral pattern, the face with straight nose and heavy-lidded eyes centered by an urna inset with a hardstone, the hair pulled into a high chignon and secured with a tiara, flanked by two lotus blossoms holding a bell and vajra, the face with remains of cold gold and polychromy
