A very similar cup of the first half of the 17th century was in the Jonathan Levi collection, sold Christie's South Kensington, 8 November 2006, lot 161 (£10,200) and illustrated in J. Levi, Treen for the table, Woodbridge, 1998, p. 51, pl.. Levi notes that another of this group of goblets with arcaded and cross-hatched decoration was in the Evans-Thomas catalogue, 1921 as pl. 6. Another with cover formerly in the collection of F. A. Turner, Esq., and formerly on loan to the Horsham Museum is illustrated in E. H. Pinto, Treen and other wooden bygones, London, 1969, pl. 29.
