Lot Essay

A related reed-banded coffee-grinder, but lacking the winder, was sold by Jonathan Levi, Christie's South Kensington, 8 November 2006, lot 72 (£2,400). The latter is illustrated in J. Levi, Treen for the table, Woodbridge, 1998, p. 118, pl.. Another is illustrated in E. H. Pinto, Treen and other wooden bygones, London, 1969, pl. 180A.
