Copenhagen, 1870, assayer's mark of Simon Groth, retailer's mark of Emil Ferdinand Dahl, also struck '14:L'
The cylindrical body engraved to the central band with a horse-racing scene with seven horses, below the text Udsadt af Kong Christian d.9de Kjöbenhavn 1870, between chased bands of fantastical horses within geometrical motifs and fruit and flower branches, the hinged cover chased with similar motif, mounted with a rearing horse and with winged horse thumbpiece, the scroll-handle modeled with a fantastical female figure holding a dove in her hands, the interior gilded, the interior of the cover with inscription Till vännen Otto Harmes "Kapten Frisk", marked on base and cover
