Details
LA TACHE
For more than a century, 1815 to 1933, La Tache was owned by the Ligier-Belair family but succession problems forced the sale to Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, when it was joined to Les Gaudichots vineyard, already owned by the Domaine. From 1933 there was one single La Tache vineyard which was recognised as a grand cru in 1936.
Oenologists and connoisseurs claim consistency and constancy are the two most important characteristics of this cru. Le Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, 2005, Gert Crum.
