One side of the panel painted in famille rose with a gathering of scholars in a mountainous retreat, the reverse painted in gold on a blue ground with a naturalistic scene of the 'Three Friends of Winter' (pine, bamboo and prunus), in a hardwood frame carved with dragon and foliate scroll repeated on the trestle support
