Formed as a large peach borne on a gnarled stem, the center of the hinged cover with a shou roundel inlaid in glass, encircled by glass 'jewels' and champlevé enamel appliques of bats and floral scroll, all reserved on a filigree ground, with similar floral scroll and filigree on the narrow sides, the interior and base of the box richly gilded
