Jiajing mark and period yellow-glazed bowls of this large size are rare. One of slightly larger size (15 in. diam.) from the collection of Ira and Nancy Koger was sold in these rooms, 19 September 2006, lot 247. A smaller (30.3 cm. diam.) yellow-glazed Jiajing-marked bowl is in the Palace Museum, Beijing, and illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum - 37 - Monochrome Porcelain, Hong Kong, 1999, p. 48, no. 43.
