THREE BRONZE GE-HALBERD BLADES
SHANG DYNASTY, CIRCA 1200 BC
The blade of each cast with a subtle median ridge and each hilt with a hafting hole: one cast on both sides at the top of the blade with a triangular mask with remains of black inlay, the curved hilt cast in intaglio on each side with a partially coiled horned dragon; one hilt in the form of a bird's head cast on each side with channels for inlay; the third curved hilt cast in intaglio on both sides with a dragon head shown in profile, with channels and cells for inlay
