FOUR JADE BIRD-FORM PENDANTS
WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY, 11TH-10TH CENTURY BC
All carved on both sides: one with raised head, backswept crest and features delineated by grooves, now almost completely altered to opaque buff color; one with backswept crest, upswept wings and downswept tail, of grey-green color with opaque alteration; one of semi-translucent white and brown color; the fourth probably recarved so that a fish replaces the missing head, of semi-translucent yellow-green color
