A rhinoceros horn pouring vessel of this shape, also carved with archaistic designs and raised on short legs, but with a gnarled prunus branch handle, dated to the Ming dynasty, from the collection of Dr. Ip Yee, is illustrated in 'Notes on a Collection of Chinese Rhinoceros Horn Carvings', Catalogue of the International Asian Antiques Fair, Hong Kong, 12-15 May 1982, no. 15.
