Another ivory brush pot decorated in the same technique with a landscape scene and dated to the first half of the 18th century is illustrated in Chinese Ivories from the Shang to the Qing, London, 1984, p. 154, no. 182, where another of hexagonal shape decorated with bamboo and dated 18th century is also illustrated, no. 183. See, also, the example of lobed hexagonal shape decorated with panels of flowers in the Qing Court collection, dated to mid-Qing dynasty, illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum - Small Refined Articles of the Study, Shanghai, 2009, no. 37, where the lacquer appears to be of brownish color.
