etching with drypoint, 1891, on laid paper with a Fleur-de-Lys with Shield and Crown watermark, signed in pencil and dedicated à Walter Pach avec cordialité, a very good, rich and velvety impression of the fourth, final state, from the edition of thirty impressions printed in 1891 in Paris, the full sheet, a few small scuffs in the subject, some light-staining, with a faint pencil line to indicate the mount-window around the subject, some time- and backboard staining, otherwise in good condition

Perversité was exhibited at the first Armory Show in New York in 1913. It must have been then that Redon gave the present impression to Walter Pach who, together with Arthur B. Davies and Walt Kuhn, was one of the organisors of this landmark exhibition.
