A PORTUGUESE EWER AND BASIN
MAKER'S MARK MP, POSSIBLY FOR MANUEL DE OLIVEIRA, OPORTO, LATE 18TH CENTURY, EACH WITH LATER FRENCH IMPORT MARK

The fluted ewer on shaped-circular spreading foot chased with stylised foliage, the baluster body with leaf-capped flying scroll handle and shaped rim, chased with shells, the partly-fluted shaped-oval basin chased with a band of shells, scrolls and foliage on a matted ground, the broad border similarly chased.
The ewer 34 cm (13½ in) high, the basin 47.5 cm (18¼ in) long
