The quatrefoil base inset with four enamel medallions depicting the life of Christ and with vine decoration, the double knopped stem inset with semi-precious stones, the lower part of the bowl chased with foliage and four hexafoil enamel medallions depicting the life of the Virgin Mary, engraved beneath the base with inscription "MONSIEUR L'ABBE PAGET VICAIRE A LA CATHEDRALE AUMONIER DU PENSIONNAT DE LA PROVIDENCE AUXERRE 1885-1897", marked on base and cup
