A chain of poems in even meter discussing philosophical, ethical and religious themes with illustrative anecdotes, Persian manuscript on paper, 193ff. plus six modern fly-leaves, each page with 16ll. of elegant black nasta'liq in four columns with gold illuminated intercolumnar divisions, the text within gold and polychrome rules, tiles in white nasta'liq on gold floral illuminated ground, some verses written on the diagonal between triangular medallions, with seven illuminated headpieces, the first two pages of each book in gold cloud bands, the opening bifolio with later marginal illumination, with three original miniatures depicting a polo game, men praying before the Kaaba and a man falling off a balcony, each with some scuffing, the manuscript otherwise in good condition, in black stamped morocco binding
