An early copy of the reknowned manual on Sufism, Arabic manuscript on paper, 258ff. as numbered plus two fly-leaves, each with 21ll. of black naskh, index at beginning, titles in red naskh, colophon stating that it was completed on the morning of Tuesday 7 Dhu al-Hijja AH 686 in Hama, some later marginal notes, first folio with later owners' notes, generally clean, in restored Mamluk stamped brown morocco binding

This copy was written within 54 years of the author's death. Two other copies of this work, dated 1283 AD and 1292 AD, are in the Chester Beatty Library (Arthur J. Arberry, The Chester Beatty Library, A Handlist of the Arabic Manuscripts, Dublin, 1956, Vol.I&II, Nos.3340, 3038). A later owner's note on the first folio states that this copy was "sold legally to the judge Muhammad bin Yusuf bin Ahmad bin Abi al-Fawaris on Saturday 22 Rabi' II AH 690/25 March 1291 AD."
