Persian manuscript on paper, with 4ll. of black nasta'liq in cloudbands over gold floral illuminated ground, the signature below, the main panel laid down between blue and gold margins, with further calligraphic lines around between turquoise blue borders with gold vines, four illuminated cartouches at either corner, the composition within gold and polychrome rules, creases, slight smudging, mounted, framed and glazed

Muhammad Qasim bin Shadishah is known for being a slow scribe who have copied manuscripts for Sultans and rulers. His recorded works are dated between AH 929/1522-23 AD and AH 955/1548-49 AD (Mehdi Bayani, Ahval va asar-e khosh-nevisan, Vol.III, Tehran, 1348 sh., pp. 807-809). An abridged version of Sa'di's Bustan signed by this scribe was sold in these Rooms, 6 October 2009, lot 89.
