This Qur'an bears the waqf seal of Shaykh al-Islam son of the deceased Shaykh Mustafa Agha son of the deceased al-Hajj Husayn Agha dated AH 1175/1761-2.
The main text is followed by some 15 folios of text taken from numerous sources induding Muhammad bin Mahmud al-Samarqandi and Muhammad bin Tayfur Sajavandi's comments on the text of the Qur'an, its numerous divisions, readings, rules of copying and an index on some words. The marginal notes in the manuscripts and the added text all point to this copy having been written for use in a theological school.
