Of oval form, footless and rimless, with curved sides, the decoration organized around a central medallion with polychrome lotus flower, the ground with dense gold floral scrolls surrounded by a band of stylized vine, a band of interlocking medallions with stylized naskh and small blue and green enamelled rosettes around, Lobmeyr monogram on the underside

Lot Essay

The dish was probably designed by Josef Salb (1845-1904) in 1873. Together with the architect Johann Machytka, he is mentioned as one of the designers who worked for Lobmeyr.
