Lot Essay

This model appears at least twice in the firm's photographic records between 1906 and 1910, and was produced both with and without rock crystal fruit set in the mermaid's shell. The present lot, now lacking the fruit, may be identified by the veining on the marble base as that shown in number A8399, which was entered into the company records between August 1906 and June 1908.
