Lot Essay

The spherical arm terminals enclosed in leaf-tip bands and the reeded legs with lobed feet are both particular design elements found consistently on the work of John Linnell and illustrated in H. Hayward and P. Kirkham, William and John Linnell, New York, 1980, figs. 69 and 72.
