Paul Jokelson (1905-2002)

A founding member of the Paperweight Collector's Association and the American representative for the Baccarat, St. Louis and Cristal D'Albret glass factories, Jokelson was an inveterate glass collector. His knowledge and expertise in the field has informed an entire generation of paperweight and glass aficionados. The purchase of his first piece of glass in 1923 led to a lifetime of study, an unrivalled expertise, the penning of several books on sulphides and glass paperweights, and the curating of seminal exhibitions on the subject, including those of the Tarshis Collection for The Corning Museum of Glass in 1988 and 1990.
