AN ORMOLU-MOUNTED SAINT LOUIS GLASS MILLEFIORI AND LAMPWORKED VASE
Circa 1848-1850
Of flaring slender form, the exterior a swirling medley of millefiori canes and ribbons interspersed with flowers in shades of dark-blue, orange, white and red about 'match head' centers, growing from green stalks with paired leaves, the swirling marbled interior formed of translucent red and opaque white filaments, above a knop and domed foot the lobed circular gilt-bronze base cast with stylized foliate ornament
