THE FIRST LATE 17TH EARLY 18TH CENTURY; THE SECOND 16TH CENTURY
The crossbow with heavy steel bow struck with a mark and retained by large decorative iron brackets also carrying a large iron stirrup, walnut stock of characteristic type inlaid with pewter lines, small mother-of-pearl plaques and bone bolt channel, large pierced iron side-plates, and large moulded iron trigger; the cranequin struck with a mark on the top of the wheelcase and retaining an early cord loop, perhaps the original, and with turned wooden handle inlaid with a bone roundel
