The case of rectangular form with reeded decoration to the silver panels, pink gold top and base, front applied with a silver, pink and yellow gold, diamond, ruby, sapphire and emerald-set floral motif, hinged rectangular compartment with cabochon ruby accents to the top containing the unsigned watch with rectangular-shaped nickel-finished lever movement, silvered dial, Arabic numerals, a sliding compartment to the top containing a lighter, opening a hinged lid to reveal the cigarette compartment, a sliding compartment to the base containing a lipstick holder and a small comb, opening a hinged lid to reveal a mirror and a powder compartment, case signed

With Arnold Ostertag Joaillier, 16 Place Vendôme, Paris original fitted floral decorated textile carrying case.

Ostertag
The celebrated French jeweller Ostertag was located at Paris' prestigious Place Vendôme. During the 1920s and 30s, his jewellery rivalled that of Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Boucheron. The firm retailed high quality watches supplied by Audemars Piguet as well as wonderful clocks made by the famous clockmaker George Verger.
