Lot Essay

Alfred Mountain is recorded in London 1881. Victorian arched regulators of related design are illustrated in D. Roberts, English Precision Pendulum Clocks, Atglen, 2003, pp. 241-254. The present example is notable for its massively constructed and superbly finished movement.
