Sale room notice
The present bureau-cabinet is closely related to the oeuvre of the Kirchheim unter Teck cabinet-maker Isaac Roos (1684-1756), one of the most prolific ébénistes under the reign of the duke Eberhard Ludwig. A related example is at the Württembergische Landesmuseum; a further cabinet on stand signed by Isaac Ross is in the Residenzschloss Ludwigsburg, while a further related bureau-cabinet attributed to Roos was sold at Christie's, Amsterdam, 15 February 2005, lot 517. Further comparable pieces are illustrated in Barockmöbel aus Württemberg und Hohenlohe 1700-1750, Württembergisches Landesmuseum Stuttgart. 1985, p. 29).
