CASE: surmounted by figures of Night, Day, Chronos and putti amongst billowing clouds, atop a rocky column and naturalistically modelled oval base carved and applied with pastoral figures, goats, lambs, owls and mice, on four bole legs, signed and dated 'Robert Kaiser/1904/Göppingen' and with RK monogram DIAL: modelled as a terrestrial globe titled with the continents and oceans, with polychrome enamelled chapters, the double ended minute hand with bird-modelled tips, the hours indicated by a fixed longitudinal pointer on the revolving globe MOVEMENT: with single going barrel, bimetallic lever balance to gilt-brass platform escapement, the oval back plate stamped 'SCHIEDT/LAUFFEN 8/11 /10338', winding and setting to the side via bevelled gearing, the winding holes and key compartment concealed by a rising panel; folding steel winding and setting key
