Deeply carved in the round with a continuous design incorporating scenes from San Guo Yan Yi (The Romance of the Three Kingdoms), with Zhuge Liang in his thatched cottage, below which Liu Bei and his two sworn brothers are gathered on a small bridge spanning a stream with their various attendants accompanying them, the other side with a gathering of officials, all beneath pine trees
