NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY (960-1127)
Of conical form, with finely potted flaring sides issuing from a narrow foot ring, beautifully carved in the interior with a series of gently curving, radiating spirals forming the flutes of a stylized blossom, the exterior plain, applied with a creamy white glaze of ivory tone darkening slightly to pale olive in the recesses of the carving and stopping short of the metal-bound rim
