AN ATTIC RED-FIGURE CALYX KRATER
CIRCA 490-475 B.C.
Side A: Herakles with bow and quiver slung over his shoulder, grasps Bousiris by the neck and holds sword to the king's body, the king seated on an altar with arms outstretched, an Egyptian attendant carrying sacrificial basket flees to the left with head turned back, meander and crossed square band below.
Side B: naked youth with lyre facing naked youth carrying staff, both with cloaks draped around their arms, band of meander below
Double band of ivy leaves under the rim
