A BYZANTINE BRONZE CENSOR
CIRCA 5TH-7TH CENTURY A.D.
The hemispherical bowl with punched circular decoration, rim pierced for the separate suspension hook; and another Byzantine bronze censor on tripod feet, decorated with concentric lines on exterior and interior, rim with three loops for attached suspension hook, circa 5th-7th Century A.D.
Bowls 4 in. (10 cm.) and 3¼ in. (8.2 cm.) diam. respectively (2)

From a private German collection formed in the 1990s.
