AN UR III CUNEIFORM FOUNDATION BRICK
REIGN OF AMAR-SIN, 2046-2038 B.C.
The square brick impressed on the upper and side surface with two copies of the same cuneiform inscription of Amar-Sin reading: "Amar-Sin, the one called by name by the god Enlil in Nippur, supporter of the temple of the god Enlil, mighty king of Ur, king of the four quarters, for the god Enki, his beloved lord, built his beloved Abzu for him"

Provenance
Formerly in the collection of the German archaeologist and architect Udo Schwalm (1905-1994), formed between the 1930s and the 1970s.
