A SYRO-HITTITE TERRACOTTA FIGURE OF A BULL AND RIDER
CIRCA 1950-1750 B.C.
The rider clasping the bull's horns, wearing conical headdress, with applied circular eyes, 4 5/8 in. (11.8 cm.) high; a Syro-Hittite terracotta figure of a bull, with applied eyes, tail and genitalia, 3½ in. (9 cm.) high; and a Hittite red burnished pottery jug with beak spout, 7¼ in. (18 cm.) high, both circa 1950-1750 B.C. (3)
Provenance
Formerly in the collection of the German archaeologist and architect Udo Schwalm (1905-1994), formed between the 1930s and the 1970s.
