LA CHAPELLE

As the hill of Hermitage crowns the splendid vineyards of the Northern Rhône, the poetry of a little lone chapel cresting this crown gives this seminal Hermitage its moniker, though Jaboulet's vineyards themselves lie some distance away. The grapes hail primarily from old vines grown in the granite of Le Meal and Les Bessards. As intense and tannic a wine as made in the world, La Chapelle lasts through lifetimes.
