"This Yquem is another really remarkable wine that seemed astonishingly youthful on this evening - really an order of magnitude fresher than the several bottles of '67 that I have tasted recently. I think the comparison with the '67 is a propos, since it is a year with pronounced botrytis and a clear, firm acidity on the palate. Past the verdant notes of botrytis, however, there is still a great freshness to this wine, with the notes of honey and toasted hazelnuts and petrol that one expects, along with lime peel, candied lemon and a soft, floral loveliness that gives an impression of gracefulness that can be lacking in the vintages that are too syrupy. A perfect end to a perfect meal." CC, June 2007
