Folio, and quarto booklet of captions (315 x 249mm). 120 black and white photographs. (Small dampstain in the margin of a few leaves, a very few leaves with pin-holes in the blank margins.) Original red card portfolio, front cover printed in black (some light wear). Provenance: a German reader (manuscript index in pencil in the blanks of the first few leaves of the booklet).
FIRST EDITION. The portfolio issue of the second of Blossfeldt's three 'immensely popular, regularly reprinted "pictorial documents"... In 1929, a selection of the work was exhibited at the Bauhaus... but even before that Blossfeldt had become an unwitting avatar of the New Objectivity'. (101 Books).
