40 gelatin silver prints on 37 card mounts, each signed by the artist in the mount and most stamped on the verso. (The title page spotted, short crease in one corner, a few guards with light wear, light spotting in a very few mounts.) Original black cloth portfolio, large printed label on the upper side (cloth on the upper side with fading).
THE VERY RARE HOSOE WORKSHOP PORTFOLIO. Number 3 of 50 copies only, comprising 40 vintage silver prints by Hosoe and his Workshop students. Workshop was founded in 1974 by Hosoe, Moriyama, Araki, Tomatsu, Fukase and Yokosuka, each leading a group of student. Workshop was disbanded in 1976, and portfolios issued by the group are very rare. WorldCat locates only one copy, at the Bibliothèque nationale de France.
