The rectangular box finely and densely carved with a multitude of figures at leisure amongst pavilions and over hanging trees, variously playing musical instruments, on horseback, drinking tea, holding fans and in conversation, all within imitation bamboo borders, the interior fitted with a two-handled tray containing ivory sewing utensils and fittings, white metal handles, hinges, lock and key, raised on four claw supports
